In short, if you are stylish, have few mirror needs, and dont mind noise, you will likely love this hotel so long as you ask for a room with a decent view. Hotel Indigo Dallas Downtown offers historic accommodation in Dallas and is within walking distance of Union Station. Finally, at least in the king room, the size was small the closet was in the tight bathroom, and the only mirror was in the bathroom, which makes it difficult for 2 to get ready at the same time. To be fair, I'm 40 but have always been an old lady when it comes to noise, so the noise level was a loser for me, and the wait staff always seemed a bit slim to cover both breakfast and the cocktail hour.

Fourth, if you have seen the old Poltergeist movie, the room door looks eerily like the closet door in the movie where the light creeps around the edges. We could hear other room's cell phone alarms in the rooms near us. Second, the air appears to be on a smart timer, so after a few hours, it turns itself up, which is fine during the day, not so great when you wake up sweating in the middle of the night. First, please note there is only one king room on each floor, and they all face the other side of the hotel, so unless you want to be your room to be open to other rooms across the gap by only a few feet, you will have no natural light or view. I would not stay here again and would not recommend staying here. This boutique hotel is beautifully appointed, and the front desk staff was always very nice. There is honestly just a general vibe that no one working there cares at all. During another day, I called down to request towels, and they never came up. This was not a disposable razor! I was honestly shocked. It actually did get made up, but- I am not exaggerating any of this- housekeeping took away the extra towels we had brought up to our room, left us with fewer amenities, and THREW AWAY MY RAZOR. Due to a miscommunication we were not aware of that- which is understandable, but when we called down to still request housekeeping services, the woman at the front desk was totally unsympathetic and said it was almost certain that no one would be able to make up our room.

Currently, the policy is to specifically request housekeeping. I also felt that service was very lacking. The restaurant also seemed to have odd hours. The rooms are serviceable but small, and amenities are really lacking- they do not have shower gel, so we got one tiny shampoo and conditioner, and one bar soap for the entire room (I guess to share between the shower and our sink?). We heard a man in the room next door to ours hacking up phlegm all night, which was just disgusting. I can confirm what another commenter said- the walls are PAPER thin. Genuinely one of the most unpleasant hotel experiences I have had in a while, which was so surprising to me because this is definitely billed as more of an upscale hotel. Although the rooms are modern and extremely relaxing, upon walking in you can't help feeling the dated warmth this wonderful old building has to offer.

Although the separated business center off the lobby is very useful, I could imagine it being used as a lounge with live music to really bring that lobby alive like I have seen in other IHG properties. Lots of natural light makes this hotel lobby a comfortable and energetic place to sit, relax or converse. I was impressed with the cleanliness of the comfortable lobby and the openness of the very large dining room it was very well designed. Walking in the front doors, I always look forward to experiencing the uniqueness of each of these properties. Another fantastic IHG property! This hotel is obviously quite old and still a very beautiful building.
